GroupDHBP (Droperidole), received 1.25 mg droperidole IV and Group D (Dexamethasone), received 5 mgdexamethasone IV ten minutes before extubation.Results:Nausea-vomiting score was not statistically different between the study groups. The incidence of nauseain group D was found to be more frequent in comparison to group DHBP within a 24 hour period although this wasnot statistically significant. Additional antiemetic requirement was more in Group D compared to Group DHBPand this was not statistically significant. There was no difference in analgesic requirement and side effectsbetween the study groups. Conclusions:Our study has shown that 5 mg dexamethasone can be used to prevent PONV
