LENIN'S CULT LEADERSHIP PROPAGANDA AND MUSIC IN ARMENIA: A SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS OF THE SONG OF 'DEDICATION TO LENIN'

Popis: 20. yüzyılda şarkılar, kült liderlik propagandasında etkin bir şekilde kullanılmıştır. Sovyetler Birliği’ne bağlı sosyalist cumhuriyetlerde de Lenin’in kült liderlik propagandasına yönelik şarkılar hazırlanmıştır. Bu şarkılardan biri de Ermenistan Sovyet Sosyalist Cumhuriyeti’nde (ESSC) sözleri Lyudvig Duryan’a, bestesi ise Aleksandr Harutyunyan’a ait Lenin’e Bağlılık (Ձոն Լենինին) adlı şarkı olmuştur. Çalışmada Lenin’e Bağlılık şarkısının sözleri üzerinden Lenin’in kült liderlik propagandansın ne şekilde inşa edildiği ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışmada şarkının sözleri dilbilimci Roman Jakobson’un göstergebilim anlayışı ışığında analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında şarkının sözleri üzerinden Ermeni halkına Lenin’in kurtarıcı olarak sunulduğu ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Diğer yandan şarkıda Ermeni halkının Lenin’in düşüncelerini benimsediğine yönelik mesaj verilmiş, bu şekilde Ermenistan’da Lenin’in güçlü bir liderlik kültüne sahip olduğu algısı meydana getirilmeye çalışılmıştır.
Songs were used effectively in cult leadership propaganda in the 20th century. Songs also were prepared for Lenin's cult leadership propaganda in the socialist republics of the Soviet Union. One of these songs was the song Dedication to Lenin (Ձոն Լենինին) whose lyrics were written by Lyudvig Duryan and which was composed by Alexander Arutiunian in the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR). In the study, it was tried to reveal how Lenin's cult leadership propaganda was constructed through the lyrics of the song “Dedication to Lenin”. For this purpose, the lyrics of the song were analyzed in the light of the semiotic understanding of linguist Roman Jakobson in the study. In the light of the findings, it was revealed that Lenin was presented to the Armenian people as a savior through the lyrics of the song. On the other hand, the message that the Armenian people embraced Lenin's thoughts was given in the song, in this way, the perception that Lenin had a strong leadership cult in Armenia was tried to be formed.
