Popis: The analysis of prestressed properties of prestressed concrete structures is useful in engineering, especially in the bridge design process. All constructions, including bridges, during their service life suffer damage due to weather degradation, such as reinforcement fatigue, concrete creep and shrinkage, alternate freezing and thawing of concrete, steel and concrete corrosion. In most cases, this results with failure to reach the calculated limit state of bearing capacity of the structure during its service life. Therefore, it is necessary to perform condition assessments and control calculations during the service of structures in order to enable interventions and determine their remaining service life. This paper analyses the issue of determining the remaining service life of prestressed structures which are weakened by corrosion. The impact of carbon dioxide and chloride on the load bearing capacity of the carrier beam in bridge structures is analyzed in details. Corrosion models are analyzed for the widely used I cross-section, by comparing the cross-sectional bearing capacity regarding these effects for various degrees of corrosion. The analysis assumes linear elastic behavior of materials in service.
