Popis: The article emphasizes that, due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine and the encroachment on its sovereignty and territorial integrity, the problem of developing civic consciousness and self-awareness among youth is one of the most pressing issues in Ukrainian society. It is highlighted that the readiness of an individual to fulfill the duty of defending the independence of the state, its national interests, and territorial integrity depends on the level of their development. The necessity of updating the process of developing civic consciousness and self-awareness of cadets (students) of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is emphasized, taking into account modern challenges caused by the war. Based on the analysis of normative legal documents, the main principles of upbringing a citizen of the Ukrainian state and the requirements for the professional training of competitive specialists for the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine have been determined. According to them these specialists will be able to protect the territorial integrity of the country, its borders, the rights, freedoms and interests of citizens, counteract crime, and ensure public safety and order in the state at a high professional level. The essence of the concepts of “consciousness”, “self-awareness”, “civil consciousness”, and “civil self-awareness” has been clarified. There have been disclosed in an article such functions of civil consciousness as cognitive, worldview, modeling, regulatory, and evaluative. The educational guidelines for the development of civic consciousness in cadets (students) of higher education institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in conditions of wartime have been identified and characterized. These are in particular filling the content of educational disciplines with materials of civic and state studies; developing value orientations, motives, and attitudes that encourage compliance with Ukrainian legislation; forming an active life position in cadets (students) and their ability to engage in public initiatives and volunteering. The experience of the teaching staff of Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, and Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs in implementing ways to develop civic consciousness and self-awareness in cadets (students) is described.
Стаття присвячена проблемі розвитку громадянської свідомості і самосвідомості курсантів (студентів) закладів вищої освіти Міністерства внутрішніх справ України. Розкрито сутність понять “свідомість”, “самосвідомість”, “громадянська свідомість”, “громадянська самосвідомість”; схарактеризовано функції громадянської свідомості: пізнавальної, світоглядної, моделюючої, регулювальної, оцінної. Визначено й схарактеризовано освітньо-виховні орієнтири розвитку громадянської свідомості у курсантів (студентів) закладів вищої освіти Міністерства внутрішніх справ України в умовах воєнного часу, а саме: наповнення змісту навчальних дисциплін матеріалом громадяно- і державознавчого характеру; розвиток ціннісних орієнтацій, мотивів та установок, що спонукають діяти відповідно до законодавства України; формування у курсантів (студентів) активної життєвої позиції, їх здатності до громадських ініціатив і волонтерства.
