ARTISTIC AND HISTORICAL TRUE IN THE NOVEL OF І. KORSAK 'THE CONQUEROR OF EUROPE'

Popis: One of the main genres of modern literature is a historical novel. The historical prose of І. Korsak is marked deep patriotism, intellectuality, the topicality of problems. The topicality of this study is because the creative work of the contemporary novelist Ivan Korsak is distinguished by the psychologism of the depicted events, immersion into the national consciousness and national identity. The correlation of artistic and historical true in the novel of the Volyn author “The conqueror of Europe” is investigated in the article. An official point of view on an event and its writer interpretation compared. The conjecture and fiction are important component parts of the authorial vision of events in the novel. The fate of conjecture and fiction is insignificant; their role is determined by the author’s evaluation of the portrayed, and the adaptation of documentary sources to the artistic form. The sense load of the marked categories and their role in the author’s evaluation of the image was analysed. We have come to the conclusion that both categories of artistic and historical truth are subordinated to the disclosure of the idea of contributing prominent Ukrainians to the global progressive movement.The materials of the article can be used in the further study of the creativity Ukrainian writer Ivan Korsak.
У статті досліджено співвідношення художньої та історичної правди в романіІ. Корсака «Завойовник Європи». Зіставлено офіційну точку зору на події та письменницьку інтерпретацію. Домисел та вимисел у творі є важливими складниками авторського бачення подій. Дослідниця аналізує смислове навантаження зазначених категорій та простежує їхню роль в авторській оцінці зображуваного.
