This study analyses the role of board directors in achieving and maintaining organizational future-preparedness. The findings are based on in-depth interviews with 25 non-executive directors and board Chairs currently in post at listed European companies representing companies with 5000+ employees or more than €1bn annual turnover. It uncovers current practices, investigates the extent to which board members think these are adequate, and how these may be improved, and where the balance lies between directors and management executives in achieving this. |
