On the basis of a co-ordinate study of 16 periodontal facilities in the GDR, a standardized documentation system was developed for recording and processing patient-oriented informations in periodontology. This documentation system is the basis for building-up a computer-based periodontal register in the GDR. This register might assume the following tasks: storage and management of data about patients subjected to specialized periodontal treatment, problem orientation methods of automated information processing, inquiries, scientific evaluation. |
