Popis:	Toxicological characteristics of the non-ionic monomeric X-ray contrast agent iopromide (Ultravist, CAS 73334-07-3) were evaluated in rats, rabbits, guinea-pigs and dogs. The scope of investigations included acute toxicity studies, systemic tolerance investigations with repeated applications, reproduction toxicity studies, examinations on the genotoxic and contact-sensitizing potential and local tolerance studies. Iopromide could be shown to be well tolerated in all the tests and species.
