Popis: Campylobacter fetus endocarditis is uncommon and may be life-threatening.A 91-year-old patient with rectal villous adenocarcinoma was admitted with fever and recent complaints of popliteal pain. The definite diagnosis of endocarditis and mycotic aneurysm related to C. fetus infection were accepted on the basis of clinical, radiological and microbiological data. Cure was achieved with antibiotics and surgery of the aneurysm without valvular replacement.C. fetus endocarditis was probably secondary to the iterative laser treatment of the rectal tumor that had been performed during the past weeks without antibiotic prophylaxis.
