Popis: | Examples are presented of some unusual x-ray applications: not the one of daily diagnostics but the one of pure curiosity, revealing unexpected beauties of natural objects like shells and other treasures of the sea. The reason or their surprising esthetic impression is discussed by pointing out the predominant presence of symmetry in its various forms and combinations in the living nature. The role of the symmetry principle is discussed as an esthetic axioma as well as an essential condition of the evolution of species. |
