Peritoneal mesothelioma is a rare malignancy that affects more women than men, with an average of 53 years old. The most important risk factor for developing the disease is chronic exposure to asbestos, becoming a disease of occupational origin. This type of cancer is difficult to diagnose, even for pathologists, with few cases reported in the literature as the most common presentation is the pleural type. We report the case of a male patient, without asbestos exposure, who presented malignantperitoneal mesothelioma. |
