Popis: The analysis of the causes of 45 (0.16%) eventrations which occurred after 27,438 emergency laparotomies was carried out. The authors attach the most importance in the occurrence of this complication to the development of a purulent-necrotic process in the wound of the abdominal wall, which spreads from outside inside in relation to the abdominal wall layers. Most often, eventration occurs at day 6-8 after the operation. Prophylaxis of postoperative phlegmona in a wound is the most effective measure for prevention of eventration.
