Popis: Time course was studied of changes in left ventricular systolic function in those patients with prior acute myocardial infarction (AMI) who were exposed to thrombolytic therapy and aspirin. A total of 127 AMI patients were examined; they were randomized into 3 groups: group I ("A + CK", n = 15) received thrombolytic therapy and aspirin; group II ("A", n = 49) were taking aspirin; group III (control, n = 63) received neither aspirin nor thrombolytic therapy. All patients were evaluated for left ventricular systolic function on the day they entered the study, at day 10, 21 and six months later. Both thrombolytic therapy and aspirin were found out to accelerate the renewal of left ventricular systolic function in AMI patients. Those patients not treated with aspirin and thrombolytics experience somewhat slower comeback of indices for left ventricular systolic function. Six months of the onset of the condition the values for left ventricular systolic function became identical in all groups studied.
