[Bone marrow cellular makeup in stomach cancer]

Popis:	The sternal and spinal bone marrow was studied in 32 patients, died at the age of 50--60 as a result of gastric cancer with different degree of differentiation and metastatic spread. Myelograms showed a reduced percentage of cells of the myeloid and erythroid series. With up to 3-year duration of the disease the amount of plasmocytes and lymphocytes in the bone marrow is regularly increased. With longer duration of the lesion lymphocytes were predominating. Such changes seem to indicate the stress status of the humoral and cell mechanisms of antitumor immunity.
