Prevalence of smoking among Greek students: a short report

Popis:	The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of smoking and its associated factors among Greek students. Out of 1200 participants, 47% reported smoking, even one or two puffs (50.8% females and 43.8% males). The mean age of initiation of smoking was 17.1 +/- 1.9 years. Living in a single-parent family was not a significant risk factor for smoking. However, having more than one family member who smokes influences the smoking behavior in young people.
