Popis: Of the numerous pitfalls associated with implant surgery, some immediate complications may occur as after all operations, including edema, pain, infection, while one is specific to implant surgery : the early rejection of the implant. Late complications include mobility and rejection of the implant, its breakage, lesions of adjacent teeth, of the maxillary sinus, the nasal fossae and the mandibular canal, and the risk of loss of bone substance and muccous bands. It is essential to evaluate possible general risks of an implant, and all possible data should be made available to surgeous. In spite of these reservations implants can be of immense service in carefully chosen cases and the technique is a valid one under these circumstances.
