Popis:	An overview is given about the importance of biosecurity in the poultry industry, and a comparison is made with other systems of disease control such as vaccination and medication. Different measures considered to be important in bio-security are reviewed and some expectations for the future are given. Furthermore, some attention is paid to the animal welfare aspects.
