Scientific and theoretical approaches to gerontosocial work, perspective trends of its development in the Russian society: socio-cultural model, resource based gerontosocial work, two-level training system for specialists on gerontology, gerontological education have been discussed. The goals and levels of education in gerontology in the modern society have been considered. The introduction of the socio-cultural model into the practical work with the elderly people in accord with the Madrid Action Plan on Ageing has been proved. The perspective trends of improving quality of life of the elderly people within the framework of the gerontosocial policy have been suggested. |
