[A tryptophan metabolic disorder in patients with kidney tumors]

Popis:	Tryptophan metabolism was investigated in 108 patients with renal tumors and 449 controls. Histologically verified (96.2%) hypernephroid cancer and papillary pelvic cancer were recorded in 84.3 and 15.4% of patients, respectively. Endogenic carcinogen 3-oxy-antronilic acid (3-OAA) was found in the urine of 17.6% of patients vs. 5.6% of controls. The difference was statistically significant. 3-oxykinurenin was detected in 6.5% of patients. The difference with controls was insignificant. Tryptophan metabolism was specified in respect to tumor histology and sex.
