Data pointing to possible combination of schizophrenia with epilepsy and the convulsive syndrome are analyzed. It has been found that schizophrenia starts very infrequently from a convulsive seizure, and still less frequently turns into epilepsy. Such a conversion was observed by the authors only in 4 out of 15,460 schizophrenia cases: this figure is much lower than the incidence of both schizophrenia and epilepsy among healthy population. |
