Popis:	Cancer treatment in Sweden is coordinated by regional oncology centers responsible for keeping registers of cancer cases and assisting the medical profession in establishing regional consensus on the treatment of specific cancer forms. The article describes the development of a regional multidisciplinary protocol for gastric cancer, with standardization of preoperative investigations and curative surgery. A follow-up procedure deals with postoperative problems and defines recurrence rates.
