Popis: The dental health of the adult population of Ryazan and the rural areas under study is characterized by the high prevalence of various abnormalities. There was the highest level of orthodontic diseases among the dwellers of districts: in Ryazan, pathology was 2.2 cases per 1 patient versus 1.4 due to abnormal tooth position (77.5% of the examined teeth versus 59.3%; p0.05), periodontitis (45.1 versus 23.5%; p0.05), and adentitis (57.7 and 26.3%; p0.05). Low orthodontic care level remained in the region 's dental institutions: the average annual orthodontic care coverage rate was 7990 subjects (0.8% of the medical aid appealability rates) in the region as a whole and 7584 (1.7%) in Ryazan. The causes of the appealability are low medical literacy, the absence of motivation and appropriate specialists, remoteness from health care facilities, the duration of treatment, and economic problems. State and municipal orthodontic care should be revived at the district (interdistrict) level to avoid the orthodontic niche being occupied with alternative commercial dental care.
