Data are submitted from comprehensive studies on primary medical care provision to the population in rural areas, medical assistant and obstetrician centers and physician's assistant stations in particular. The above centers/stations are shown to require a substantial restructuring in respect of formation of adequate primary health care delivery to rural population. Such restructuring has implications not only for the infrastructure of the above primary health care delivery centers but also for the functional trends in the activities of the medical assistant and obstetrician stations, their personnel and supply availability. A list of tasks is given to be tackled in the course of reformation of rural health bodies and facilities. |
