Hepatic functional activity was studied. Liver was considerably enlarged and its functional indices decreased at the early postoperative stages, especially in patients suffering from severe inflammation. These results compared with the clinical indices of intoxication, one can infer on the major role of medium mass molecules in the increased blood toxicity in these patients. This was confirmed by the analysis of correlation and regression relationships between hepatic functional testing and blood toxicity. |
