1 percent sodium hypochlorite solution was used to induce full-value gingival regeneration. The drug was applied to the surgical wound for 10 min during radical gingivo-osteoplasty according to V. A. Kiselev. Morphologic examination of gingival biopsy specimens carried out 2 months after surgery has shown not only epithelial structure recovery, but recovery of the connective-tissue gingival base as well, no cellular infiltrates, whereas the controls developed only epithelial recovery and connective-tissue base fibrous structures were represented by coarse collagen fibre bundles, cellular element accumulations (infiltrates) were seen. Due to a favorable course of the postoperative period patients' invalidity periods were cut down 2.5-fold. |
