[Histological abnormalities in acute and chronic hepatitis]

Popis:	Liver damage induced by the hepatitis virus can be classified in acute, fulminant, chronic persistent and chronic active, according with the point of view of the pathologist. In this manuscript, the author reviews and carefully describes the histological patterns in each of the viral hepatitis forms. Difficulties in histological differential diagnosis, small size biopsy limitations and modifications induced by ingestion of corticosteroids and immunosupprevisive drugs are commented.
