To analyze and summarize the clinical aspects, diagnostic methods and treatment principle of the orbit chloroma.It was a retrospective case series study. The clinical aspects of 17 orbital chloroma cases were analyzed, which included symptoms, signs, imageology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.Orbit chloroma was more prevalent in males, and usually occurred in children and individuals under 14 years old. The main symptoms were exophthalmos and orbit masses. B ultrasonic examination was performed in 16 cases, which found that the mass was located in the temporal side of the orbit, with irregular shape and clear edge. Color doppler imaging was performed in 5 cases, which found that the sufficient blood supply signal was the main manifestation. CT scan was performed in 11 cases, which revealed that the mass was located in temporal side of the orbit, with irregular shape, regular density, a clear edge and seldom destruction of the orbital bone. Blood examination was performed in 17 cases, which revealed the increase of white blood cells and the presence of numerous immature blood cells. Sixteen cases were referred to the department of hematology for treatment. In 4 following cases, 2 cases were died within 3 months.Orbital chloroma can be easily misdiagnosed as other types of malignant orbital tumor in children. The diagnosis of orbital chloroma can be established by radiology and hematological examinations. This tumor can be treated by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. |
