Popis:	A 56 year old woman with a previously normal heart developed severe left ventricular dilation and hypo-contractility after a few weeks of a refractory, high ventricular rate atrial fibrillation. Reduction of heart rate with verapamil resulted in a rapid normalization of myocardial contractility.
