Popis: Enzyme immobilization by covalent bonding to an insoluble polymer has the supposed advantage of irreversible binding of the enzyme to the support matrix. Many of the bonds commonly employed are not 100% stable in use, however. Unless some care is taken to ensure that the enzyme can withstand the reaction conditions, substantial loss of enzyme activity will occur. Even under favorable conditions, 60% loss of activity is not uncommon.
