[Verapamil: an original anti-arrhythmic agent]

Popis:	Verapamil was initially known for its anti-angina effect. When given in higher doses, it displays pharmacologically unusual anti-arrhythmic effects, since it opens up a new path in this still limited category of drugs. Experience gained in 310 cases has enabled useful doses to be established and had shown that Verapamil is very effective in the management of supraventricular rhythm disturbances. Its high dose administration modality in patients with primary insufficiency and in the aged was also determined.
