In cases of so called ketoacidosis there are not only elevated levels of acetone and isopropanol to be found, but also elevated levels of acetic acid and some times of formic acid and higher n-alkane acids. In ketoacidosis concentrations of acetate in the organes may reach levels with are to be seen in cases of intoxication with acetic acid. The present results of our investigationes are summerised and discussed in the view of possible pathobiochemical and toxicological valuations in relationship with diseases, causes of death and thanatochemical processes. |
