Popis:	Disulfide bis-(beta-dimethyl octyl ammonium ethyl) and some of its analogues were shown to have a radioprotective effect. It is suggested that the mechanism of radioprotective action of quaternary ammonium compounds involves both a temporary inhibition of DNA synthesis in radiosensitive tissues and inhibition of oxidative processes in the organism.
