Popis: Data for monomeric flavan-3-ols (catechins) occurrance and content in foodstuffs of plant origin, as well as the main food sources and dietary intake of these flavonoids are reviewed. The questions on bioavailability, distribution and biotransformation of individual catechins are discussed. The results of in vitro and in vivo investigations of catechins effects on xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes activities were shown.
