Popis:	(1) Experiences with a case of progressive porencephaly due to a cyst under tension are presented and reviewed in comparison with the literature on this subject and the term "hydroporencephaly" is suggested to describe this phenomenon. (2) Attention is called to the frequent progressive nature and delayed onset of symptoms in this disease and also to the possibility of effective neurosurgical treatment of some aspects of this disorder. (3) An abnormality of the rectilinear brain scan in porencephaly is described.
