The impact of cobalt concentrations on the prevalence of arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and risk factors for chronic noninfectious diseases was studied among an unorganized 20-59-year-old population of the Yamal-Nenetsk Autonomic District. A total of 1521 subjects were randomly selected and examined, the response rate was 78.0%. The prevalence of arterial hypertension and obesity was higher in cobalt deficiency. It was stated that the low and normal concentrations of cobalt were characterized by a higher adaptive strain of intersystem relationships to maintain homeostasis, which was not observed in cobalt excess. |
