Popis: The role of the black bile in the genesis of cancer was 200 years ago replaced by the lymph. The terminology was, however, confusing. The antique concept of humoral pathology then still existed. When the cellular pathology was introduced in the middle of the 19th century the interest in the genesis of cancer was focused on connective tissue. There were also some attempts linking the lymph to connective tissue in understanding cancer development.
