Popis:	A manometric system is described to record the anal high-pressure zone. Anal manometry was performed in 77 individuals. It appeared that amplitude at rest is the most suitable variable to assess sphincter strength. Anal manometry is indicated in patients with chronic constipation or faecal incontinence. It may also be applied to postoperative assessment of operative procedures involving sphincter control.
