Popis: The presence of receptors for atrial natriuretic factor (HANaP) on the ciliary body leads to the conclusion that HANaP may play a role in the regulation of intraocular pressure. In two groups of patients (each group consisted of ten patients) the injection of 100 mg HANaP was followed by a significant lowering of the intraocular pressure. This effect could be seen over a period of 4 h. The intraocular pressure was reduced by about 25% of the baseline pressure.
