Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) causes swollen joints and irreversible joint damage and may even elevate cancer risks. Several bioactive nonstarch polysaccharides (NSPs) were reported to alleviate RA, but the key colonic genes accountable for this alleviation were elusive.
