The article is based on 28 experimental studies and 74 clinical observations. The authors have distinguished fascial-cellular spaces of the mediastinum, noted their developmental changes and topographo-anatomical relationships, determined possible ways of spreading the pyo-inflammatory process in the mediastinal fat in children of different age groups. Substantiation of methods of drainage in acute suppurative mediastinitis is given in the age aspect, as well as the method of local detoxication. Differential approach to children with this critical pathology resulted in recovery of 64 of 74 sick children. |
