Popis: The first order rate constant for the conversion of intraperitoneally administered methanethiol to sulfate in the rat was found to be 0.571 hr-1. The first order rate constant for the urinary excretion of sulfate was 0.0818 hr-1. Thus, the half-life for the metabolism of methanethiol to sulfate was 1.21 hr and for the elimination of sulfate in the urine was 8.47 hr.
