Popis: It has been found through chemical analysis that the Black Sea algae Cystozeira barbata, Ulva lactuca, and Zostera nona contain considerable amounts of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, carotene, vitamin E, Ca, Fe, and Mg. Supplements of algal meal in the ration mixtures for laying chickens has raised the egg laying capacity of the birds. Besides, the eggs were of higher weight and contained more Ca in their shells. The yolks contained higher amounts of carotene and vitamins (A and E).
