Erythrocytes are known to actively participate in regulation of metabolic processes and homeostasis of the organism exposed to the action of toxic factors. The present investigation was designed to study the erythrocyte membrane structure in patients with alcohol hepatitis, its main features being reduced levels of phospholipids, increase in the content of cholesterol, and the abnormal cholesterol/phospholipid ratio. Concentration of phosphatidiletanolamine and phosphatidilcholine have gotten decreased whereas those of lysophosphatidilcholine and sphingomieline increased. |
