Popis: The complement system plays an important role as a product of innate and acquired immune reaction. It can be activated via three different routes: the classical pathway, the alternative pathway and the lectin pathway. MBL (mannose-binding lectin) is considered to be a pathogen recognising receptor (PRR), an important factor in recognising pathogen associated molecular pattern (PAMP). The aim of study was to evaluate MBL in early pregnancy of diabetic mothers. Higher values of MBL were observed in diabetic non-pregnant women compared to healthy non-pregnant. Subjects early pregnancy seems to decrease MBL values in both diabetic and healthy pregnant women.
