This study aimed to review the clinicoradiographic findings in 16 patients with unilateral cochlear neuromas. The data included in this presentation were obtained from a retrospective case review. The study was conducted at a tertiary care academic institution.Patients of any age, gender, or race with a unilateral cochlear neuroma participated.Standard audiometric and radiographic assessment was performed.Progressive sensorineural hearing loss was measured.Sensorineural hearing loss is out of proportion to the size of the tumor (8 mm in all 16 patients).Gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging in the axial and coronal planes can help identify cochlear neuromas in selected patients with unilateral sensorineural hearing loss. |
