Popis: | There is increasing awareness of the population about the risk of cutaneous melanoma. In recent years, some improvement was gained in the early recognition of clinical warning signs using dermoscopy. As a result, the number of puzzling cases exhibiting limited classical clues for malignancy are submitted to the dermatopathologist. Thus, the risk of microscopic uncertainty or misdiagnosis may be increasing. The aim of the study was to assess retrospectively the contribution of immunohistochemistry in establishing the histological diagnosis of 520 melanocytic neoplasms. According to the disease evolution and the histological presentation, 6 profiles of phenotypical expressions were distinguished. |
