It is the purpose of the Expert Panel at the 8th SCAMC to identify the concerns relating to the Diagnosis Related Grouping (DRG) reimbursement system and elaborate upon them from different perspectives within the health care system and government. Among them are: Implementation Problems; Role of the Peer Review Organization (PRO); Teaching Hospitals; Third Party Payors; the Prospective Payment Commission (ProPAC); Outliers and Severity of Illness issues; other Current Initiatives in Cost and Management; and the SSA/HCFA needs and legal requirements. Time permitting, active audience participation will be encouraged following the presentations. |
