The excavation carried out in Val-de-Reuil (Eure) made it possible to study a Gallo-Roman sanctuary and settlement. The former, which was probably built in the Augustan period, lasted until the 3rd Century. Its abandonment and demolition occurred when a settlement area appeared north of its walls. From that time on, the sanctuary was used as a material quarry for this settlement, which was occupied until the late 4th Century. This site revealed a large volume of materials, some of which can be associated with the religious site. |
