This paper focuses writing systems and text typologies as patterns of contacts and technological exchanges between Greeks and western indigenous communities from the beginning of the Greek colonization until 4th century BC. Developments of those relationships are also examined in the perspective of the variation of this kind of technological exchanges. Fourth century is considered a crucial period owing to the socio-political evolution of the indigenous communities, which involved new pattern of contacts within a Mediterranean network. A deeper assimilation of Greek culture is evidenced by remodeling alphabetic systems and text genres which inserted the indigenous communities within the Hellenistic world. |
