Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Kulak, Burun ve Boğaz Anabilim Dal'ında 1.1.2009-1.9.2012 tarihleri arasında seröz otit media tanısı ile takip edilen pediatrik olguların dosyaları incelenerek seröz otitin vestibüler sisteme olan etkileri ve aynı dönemde baş dönmesi, denge kaybı ve yürüme bozukluğu nedeni ile başvuran hastalardaki tanıların değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı.Bu amaç ile belirtilen tarih aralığında seröz otit tanısı ile takip edilen 5-18 yaş arası 50 hasta ile baş dönmesi ve denge kaybı şikayetleri ile başvuran 10 hastanın dosyaları değerlendirildi.Seröz otitli 50 hastanın 34'ünün (%68) erkek, 16'sının (%32) kız ve yaş ortalamasının 8 olduğu belirlendi. Dosyası incelenen 50 hasta arasında 2 hastanın vestibüler sistem fonksiyon bozukluğu gösterdiği bunun seröz otit mediaya bağlı ortaya çıktığı tespit edildi.Baş dönmesi, denge kaybı ve yürüme bozukluğu şikayeti ile başvuran 10 hastanın dosyası değerlendirildiğinde, 5'inin erkek ve 5'inin kız olduğu tespit edildi. Bu hastalara ait veriler değerlendirildiğinde psikiyatrik orijinli vertigo, BPPV ve Migrenöz vertigonun öne çıktığı görüldü.Pediatrik yaş grubunda hastaların baş dönmesini tarif edememesi nedeni ile hastanın mevcut durumunun açığa çıkarılmasında aile ile olan iletişim oldukça önem kazanmaktadır. Seröz otitin vestibüler sistemi etkilediği fakat bu etkinin sonuçlarını istatistiksel olarak değerlendirebilmek için daha fazla sayıda hasta üzerinde araştırma yapılması gerektiğini düşünmekteyiz. The goal of this study is to invastigate the effect of serous otitis media on vestibular system by evaluation of files of patients with serous otitis media in Ankara University Medical Faculty Ear, Nose and Throat Department between 1.1.2009-1.9.2012 and also to invastigate the diagnosis of patients applied with the complaint of vertigo and dizziness.Files of 50 patients between 5-18 years old with serous otitis media and the files of 10 patients applied with the complaint of vertigo and dizziness were evaluated.Thirtyfour (68%) of 50 patients was male, the rest 16 (32%) patients was female and mean age was 8. Two patients were determined as having vestibular disfunction due to serous otitis media among the files of 50 patients.Files of 10 pediatric patients applied to the hospital with the complaint of vertigo were evaluated and 5 of this patients were male and the other 5 of them were female. The diagnosis of this patients were mainly vertigo of psychiatric origin, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and migrainous vertigo.Cooperation with the parents is essantial in the diagnosis of vestibular dysfunction in childhood because of the childs? difficulty in expressing vertiginous sysmtoms. Serous otitis media effects the vestibular system but statistical analyses couldn?t be made with 2 patients. New researchs with much more patients should be made for investigation of the effect of serous otitis media on vestibular system. 98 |
